Corndel Charity Team shortlisted for the Learning Giveback Award in the Learning Awards 2024
The Corndel Charity team deserves the “Learning Giveback” award due to their tireless and impactful work on the Corndel Levy Pledge.
The Corndel Levy Pledge was designed to help large UK organisations better use their Apprenticeship Levy – turning wasted funds into social impact for UK charities. The team developed the pledge to create a compelling solution to a pressing issue – over £3 billion of Levy funding has gone to waste since 2019. The extent of the problem can’t be understated, especially given the current cost-of-living crisis, which has led to a reduction in charitable giving. This has led to:
- 88% of charities view achieving financial sustainability and meeting service demands as critical challenges
- 89% of charities currently in the UK do not have access to a Levy Pot
Over the past three years, Corndel clients have gifted just over £4.5 million worth of their levy funding to charity partners, including NSPCC, Hospice and NHS Charities, together, supporting learners to develop their skills in fundraising, data analytics and leadership.
The team purposefully match companies to third-sector organisations that align with their corporate social responsibility values and works closely with them to embed long-term sustainable relationships that drive impact and deliver quality training opportunities.
To win a Learning Award is much more than to be recognised for achievement in L&D.
It is to become part of a prestigious and exclusive community – where passion meets creativity, where tenacity meets results. It is the ultimate accolade given to anyone working in learning and development.
"We are delighted to have been named a finalist for the Learning Giveback Award in the Learning Awards 2024. This recognition is a testament to the tangible impact our Charity Team has made through the Corndel Levy Pledge, helping unspent levy pots have meaningful social contributions. It's heartening to witness the collective efforts of our clients and the team, truly embodying the essence of 'giving back'.
We remain committed to working with charities to help upskill, retain, and invest in their talented teams through the Corndel Levy Pledge. We have big ambitions for 2024 and will continue to work with our clients to deliver high-impact apprenticeship programmes for the third sector across the UK."
The winners of the Learning Awards 2024 will be announced on 22 February 2024 at an awards ceremony at JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London.
