How leading businesses are using the zero-cost Apprenticeship Levy to fund L&D

A growing number of the UK’s leading businesses are using the Apprenticeship Levy to fund their L&D and organisational objectives, sustaining high-quality training and building employee capability ready for recovery.

When businesses face financial distress, the first casualty is often the learning and development budget. The current coronavirus crisis is likely to prove no different.

These zero-cost training programmes are enabling employers to build management and technology capability, addressing skills shortages and positively impacting retention and motivation amongst mid-career employees.

At the launch of one our client’s Management Development Programmes earlier this week, the programme sponsor described the importance of investing in talent at this time. “We as business leaders recognise your critical role, not only in helping to get the business through this crisis, but also in allowing the company to grow over the next two to three years.”
